Pittsfield Men's Sober House is the men's half of a split building, and the two sides are kept apart, so the men here form their own household. Each guest runs his own schedule and his own recovery program. What the house asks in return is plain: stay abstinent, follow the house rules, and stay engaged with the work you came here to do. Housemates are expected to hold each other to that.
The first weeks are about settling into that rhythm. A House Mentor lives in the home and is the first person a new guest goes to with a question, a problem or a bad day. Screening for drugs and alcohol is random, so nobody can plan around it. Laundry, storage and a computer station are on site, which makes a job search possible from the first week.

A parent, partner or sibling can pay the deposit and rent directly, and we will walk them through the house rules, the schedule, and what to expect in the first month.
One thing to be clear about: the agreement is with the guest, not with the family.
Grants & Scholarships
Some states fund recovery housing directly, through scholarships, bed subsidies, or reentry grants run by state agencies and nonprofits. The money is limited and the programs change, so ask early instead of assuming there is nothing. Put it on your application if you need help with funding.
