Life in Sober Living: Structure and Peer Support
Rogers is a small house for fourteen women in a quiet part of Lowell. The size suits women who want a calm home and a household where everyone knows each other. The women share the house, look out for one another and keep it a substance-free place to live, with air conditioning, parking and laundry on site, and a House Mentor who lives in the home.
Every Monday at 6 PM the house meets, and that meeting is where problems come up and get sorted. Curfew is 11 PM every night. Drug and alcohol screening is random, and the House Mentor is there for support and coaching through the first weeks. Public transportation and local services are close by, so getting to work, treatment and outside meetings does not depend on having a car.
