New Hope is a peer-led house for twenty-four men in North Providence, and every guest has a job in keeping it running. The household runs on structure, accountability and a shared purpose, and men are expected to support each other through the hard parts of early recovery. Operator Frank Moreau of Kayaly Recovery believes everyone who comes through the door has a full chance to get well.
A House Mentor in long-term recovery lives in the home and runs things day to day. New guests keep weekly house meetings, recovery meetings of their choosing, work or school, and a share of the chores. Curfew is 10 PM Sunday through Thursday and midnight on Friday and Saturday. Drug screens at New Hope come without warning. Local employers are close by, which helps a new guest find work early.

New Hope Sober House is on Smith Street in the Fruit Hill neighborhood of North Providence. RIPTA Route 57 runs along Smith Street between downtown Providence and Centerdale, and a Walgreens is about a 3-minute walk. Our Lady of Fatima Hospital is about 0.8 miles away, and Rhode Island College is about 0.7 miles. Captain Stephen Olney Memorial Park is a 14-minute walk. One thing to be clear about: the agreement is with the guest, not with the family.
