Vanderburgh Sober Living proudly welcomes Jessica Thompson as the Operator of Rogers Sober House for Women in Lowell, Massachusetts. Jessica brings a passion for community, recovery, and healing to her work, and we are thrilled to support her as she embarks on this important journey.
Jessica’s Journey in Recovery
Jessica’s personal experience in recovery has fueled her commitment to helping others. Having been in recovery herself since 2018 and maintaining complete abstinence since August 2023, Jessica understands the challenges and triumphs of the recovery process. She shared how important it is to create a supportive and calming environment, saying, “For me, the healing process began once I was in a calmer, more peaceful state of mind.”
A Vision for Women’s Recovery
Rogers Sober House for Women aims to provide a nurturing space where guests can focus on their recovery journeys. Jessica envisions a community where women can explore various pathways to recovery, finding what works best for their unique needs. “We’re multifaceted people,” Jessica explains. “There’s no wrong way to recover. I want to create a space where women can find what resonates with them—whether it’s through spiritual practices, fitness, or traditional recovery meetings.”
Giving Back Through Creativity
In addition to her work as a sober house operator, Jessica gives back to her community in creative ways. As a former hairstylist, she often visits treatment centers and sober homes to offer haircuts and styling to women in recovery. “When you feel better, you present better,” she says, underscoring the connection between self-care and confidence.
Building a Supportive Community
Jessica’s vision for Rogers Sober House extends beyond recovery. She plans to establish comforting circles where women can come together to share their experiences and support one another. Jessica says, “I want to create a space where women can connect, share, and heal together. Even if someone doesn’t speak in a group, just hearing another person’s story can touch their life.”
Empowerment and Growth
At Vanderburgh Sober Living, we are inspired by Jessica’s passion and determination. Her approach to recovery emphasizes empowerment and personal growth, encouraging women to reclaim their identities and embrace their potential. She says, “You’re so much more than this disease. Recovery doesn’t define you—it’s just one part of your journey.”
