Welcoming Breakfast by the Beach Ministries & Champion Home in Brockton
A Firm Foundation: The Story Behind Breakfast by the Beach Ministries
Vanderburgh Sober Living is proud to welcome Robert and Alison Brinson, the founders of Breakfast by the Beach Ministries, as our newest VSL Chartered Operators. Their deep dedication to the recovery community, paired with years of service in the field of healthcare, has positioned them as leaders in the field. Now, they are bringing their passion and expertise to Brockton, MA, where they will provide recovery housing that offers a haven and support for individuals in recovery.
Introducing Breakfast by the Beach Ministries
Founded in 2015, Breakfast by the Beach Ministries has been a beacon of hope for those seeking recovery. Under the guidance of Robert and Alison Brinson, the ministry will work to serve those affected by addiction, offering compassion, support, and resources.
Robert’s inspiration for operating Champion Sober House stems from his personal experiences. Having spent years in prison ministry, he witnessed the devastating effects of addiction and the high rates of recidivism among those battling substance abuse. His passion for helping individuals overcome addiction comes not only from his ministry but also from losing loved ones to addiction.
“I’ve walked alongside people who struggled with addiction, and I’ve seen the impact it has on families and communities–
I believe we can break that cycle by providing the right environment, support, and opportunities for true addiction recovery.”
Robert shared with VSL during an interview in August, 2024.
Long-Term Vision and Commitment to Recovery Housing
Champion Home is more than just a sober living home—it’s a community dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their lives. Robert and Alison’s long-term vision is to make Champion House one of the most reputable sober homes in Massachusetts. By offering life skills training, including CPR certification, interview skills coaching, and resume writing workshops, guests develop the tools they need for lasting independence. These resources are designed to empower men in recovery and help them succeed well beyond their stay at Champion Sober House.
“We’re not just here to provide a temporary solution,” Robert explained. “We’re focused on helping people build life skills that will empower them long after they leave the Champion Sober House. That’s the core of long-term addiction recovery.
We want to create a space where people can learn from each other, share their experiences, and grow together. Addiction doesn’t define them—their potential does.”
